Expert appointments, cohort check-ins and an alumni gathering.
Then, good company.
Finish the day with local people backing local ideas. If you'd like to, share your idea in a relaxed, supportive setting - and receive a share of the community contribution from the evening. It's entirely optional, and it's never a competition.
Sam Garven
A founder who's been where you are.
Sam has spent more than a decade building and running startups. She founded Hello Canopy, an AI insights platform backed by Techstars and showcased at SXSW, helped grow Zip from 150 to 1,300 people worldwide, and is now COO at Admiral, a robotics technology company.
She's made the tough calls too. When the timing wasn't right for Hello Canopy, she wound it down, so she knows what it takes to back an idea and work out what comes next.
We asked Sam to lead Bold Moves because she's encouraging, practical and easy to talk to. She's also been a wallaby researcher and a chicken farmer, so a half-formed idea won't faze her.

Is it really free?
Yes. Bold Moves is free, thanks to a grant from the Department of Energy and Economic Diversification. Your Bold Company evening is included too.
Do I need a business plan or experience?
No. Bring the idea you want to explore, even if it's half-formed. Email us if you're unsure whether the day is a fit.
Do I have to share my idea at Bold Company?
Not at all. Sharing is optional and relaxed - a chance to meet people who want to help, not a competition.
What happens after the day?
Six months of support, including expert appointments, cohort check-ins and an alumni gathering, plus a month of free hot desking at CityHive. You can also continue into Traction | Immersion on 28-29 November.
Can friends and supporters come to the evening?
Yes. Bold Company is open to everyone who wants to back local ideas - they can book the evening on its own.
