Build it or Bin it?

Wednesday 29th April 2026 | 5.30pm - 7.30pm

  • Some ideas should be built.

  • Some should be dropped.

  • Most sit in the middle far too long.

Work out which is which - before you invest more time, money or energy! ‍ ‍

About this Workshop

Most ideas don't fail because they're bad.

They fail because no one challenges them early enough.

This is a room where that challenge happens — openly, constructively and without agenda.

Bring an idea you've been sitting on, or come to contribute your thinking to someone else's.

Either way, you'll leave sharper than you arrived.

How it Works

Anyone in the room can put an idea on the table.

Each one gets worked through together — the whole group asking questions, testing assumptions and looking at:

  • the problem it solves

  • who it's actually for

  • the commercial reality

  • what might be missing

You don't need a polished pitch. Just something real you're thinking about.

No scorecards. Just clear thinking and honest input from people who've built things, tested ideas and made decisions like this before.

What you'll walk away with

  • A clearer read on whether your idea has legs, needs refining, or needs rethinking

  • Practical perspectives you won't get working on it alone

  • Connections with people across the Mid West who are building things too

Sometimes one good conversation is enough to change direction. Or give you the confidence to keep going.

Want to put something on the table?

  • You can flag your idea when you register — just a short description so we can make the most of the evening.

  • Or turn up and put your hand up on the night. Both work.

Don’t have an idea, but keen to contribute - that is good too!

Who this is for

  • Entrepreneurs, Founders and Side-Hustlers testing an idea

  • Business owners exploring something new

  • Operators working on a new direction or side project

  • Innovators inside existing businesses

  • People who want to contribute to real conversations about real ideas

This session is the start of Traction — Pollinators' founder-focused program running April to June 2026.

It includes hands-on workshops, access to mentoring sessions with Entrepreneurs-in-Residence and the opportunity catalyse your idea by joining a Kick-Start Weekend.
